If you’ve never heard of an Arizona Certified Legal Document Preparer, you’re not alone — it’s a long title for a simple idea. AZCLDPs are certified by the Arizona Supreme Court to help people prepare legal documents when hiring an attorney isn’t necessary or practical.

As AZCLDPs, we’re authorized to:

Since 2003, Arizona has required all Certified Legal Document Preparers to complete 10 hours of continuing education every year, so we stay current with changes in the law and procedures that affect our clients.

AZCLDP vs. Paralegal

A lot of people confuse Legal Document Preparers with Paralegals, and it’s easy to see why — both work with legal documents. The difference is that paralegals must work under an attorney, while AZCLDPs are certified to work independently with clients who represent themselves.
